TRAVEL TIPS

Getting Here and Around

The Parque das Nações may be on the eastern edge of Lisbon but is easy to reach by public transport. The metro stops at Oriente station here on the route between Alameda and the airport, an interchange with the green line that runs from Cais do Sodré via Baixa-Chiado and Rossio stations, downtown. Above ground is the elegant Gare do Oriente, designed by Spanish star architect Santiago Calatrava, where fast trains from Porto and the Algarve stop, as well as some express buses. Gare do Oriente is also just a seven-minute trip on a suburban train from Santo Apolónia, downtown, but services are rather irregular.
